1. Who we are

The Founder Voice (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website thefoundervoice.com and the associated web application. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our services.

2. Information we collect

Account information: When you create an account we collect your email address, name, and authentication credentials (or OAuth tokens if you sign in with Google).

Writing samples: Text, PDFs, or URLs you upload to train your Voice DNA profile. These are stored securely and used solely to personalize your content generation.

Generated content: Posts you generate are stored as drafts in your account. We do not use your generated content to train our AI models or share it with third parties.

Usage data: We track generation counts, token usage, and feature interactions to enforce plan limits and improve the product. This metadata does not include the text of your posts.

Payment information: Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy. We do not store credit card numbers. We receive your subscription status, plan, and billing period from Lemon Squeezy.

Analytics: We use PostHog for product analytics. PostHog collects anonymized usage events, page views, and device information. You can opt out via your browser's Do Not Track setting.

3. How we use your information

To provide, maintain, and improve our services
To personalize content generation using your Voice DNA profile
To enforce usage limits and prevent abuse
To process payments and manage subscriptions
To send transactional emails (password resets, billing receipts)
To respond to support requests
To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your writing samples or generated content to train AI models.

4. Data storage and security

Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure (hosted on AWS) with encryption at rest and in transit. We use Row Level Security to ensure each user can only access their own data. Authentication tokens are stored in HTTP-only cookies.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your profile, writing samples, voice profile, drafts, and usage history are permanently removed within 30 days.

5. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

Supabase — database, authentication, file storage
Google Gemini — AI content generation (your prompts are sent to Google's API; Google does not use API inputs for model training)
Lemon Squeezy — payment processing
PostHog — product analytics
Vercel — hosting and edge delivery

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

Access your personal data (use the “Export my data” feature in Settings)
Correct inaccurate data (edit your profile in Settings)
Delete your account and all associated data
Object to processing for analytics purposes
Request data portability

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (session tokens). We use PostHog for analytics which sets a first-party cookie. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

8. Children's privacy

Our service is not directed to individuals under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on our website. Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
